Covering the areas of Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education
丰富 provides students with the knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes to make informed decisions about their lives. It also promotes positive emotional health and well-being to help students to understand and explain their feelings, and build their confidence and emotional resilience and therefore their capacity to learn.
In years 7-11 enrichment is delivered through designated days throughout the year. They are scheduled once a term for a whole day to allow extended projects and ideas to be taught. The days cover all topics required by the National 课程, including drugs education, sex and relationships, social education and Citizenship. In many of the topics taught visiting speakers play an important role e.g Big Brum, Blind Dave, Children’s Society, Aquarius.
Each enrichment day throughout the year covers a different aspect of the enrichment agenda.
Examples of some of the activities/topics covered.
October- Health day (sexting, grooming, healthy relationships), careers, role of the media, enterprise day, tolerance workshops, House activity day, tooled up for school (knife crime), House debate, mental health, prejudice, money management, House football.
December- Next Generation Awards, Step into the NHS, Puzzle company, House football, Alcohol workshops, House activities, house debate, gambling workshops.
February- House football, Puzzle Company, House activities, House debate, Sexual health day, Racism, House debate.
May- House activities, House debate, House football, Fire safety, Drayton Manor, First Aid in a day.
June- Creativity day, Forensic day, make a difference day, House activities, 职业生涯.
